The Arrow premiere was absolutely jam packed with new characters, a romantic date and the loss of a friend. Olicity was in full swing only to be shot down with a rocket launcher of some sort. Now Oliver thinks that he’s let down his guard and that’s why Felicity was hurt. There’s never going to be a right time, Oliver. Just date her for reals already.
Brandon Routh joined the cast as Ray Palmer, who begins to pursue Felicity after asking her for some hacking advice while she’s at her new “Nerd Herd” day job, only to show up at the QC board meeting. He made quite the impression with his PowerPoint presentation and wants to help the city move forward and rise again by renaming it Star City. Not sure if it has the same ring to it.
We left off last week with Sara coming back in town, from the League of Assassins, and helping Oliver win another battle in their beloved city, only to be shot full of arrows by a mysterious figure on the rooftop. She ends up falling to her death right in front of her sister, almost minutes after they had just spoken. This will most likely propel Laurel into a fit of rage, maybe even taking on a mask of her own in the near future. Just because they’re down one Black Canary doesn’t mean another can’t rise to take her place (*wink wink*). We saw her in the final few episodes last season carrying her own weight and helping Oliver/Arrow when he needed it most, so we know she has the guts to fight back.
This week’s episode, rightfully titled “Sara,” will tell us a lot about what’s to come this season.
