Syfy plans on taking over your DVRs on Monday nights!

At the Television Critics Association winter session, the network announced the premiere dates for the return of their hit drama series 12 Monkeys along with newcomer Hunters. The network also released

Hunters follows Baltimore FBI agent Flynn Carroll (Nathan Phillips, Wolf Creek) as his wife goes missing and his search leads him to a highly-classified government organization – the Exo-Terrorism Unit (ETU) – who track and fight alien terrorists.  Britne Oldford (American Horror Story) plays Regan, a valuable ETU operative keeping secrets of her own. The gritty sci-fi thriller also stars Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck) as the dangerously unhinged terrorist, McCarthy.

Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd told reporters that they “really want to make aliens scary again. We want to make them compelling…there’s a real mystery to solve.” Hurd has multiple shows on the air including AMC’s The Walking Dead and the newly announced Falling Water which Syfy’s sister network USA just picked up to series. In regards to juggling her schedule, Hurd responded by saying “for any project I work on, it’s important for me to imagine giving up so much of my life to bring it to the small screen.” Basically, she’s saying Hunters is worth the watch!

Hunters hails from executive producers Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead, The Terminator Trilogy) and Natalie Chaidez (12 Monkeys, Heroes), who will also serve as showrunner, and Emile Levisetti (Royal Pains). The series is inspired by best-selling author Whitley Strieber’s novel, Alien Hunter.

The 13-episode first season of Hunters debuts Monday, April 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy.

Syfy’s time-travel sophomore drama 12 Monkeys will return for an all-new 13-episode second season second with Aaron Stanford (James Cole), Amanda Schull (Dr. Cassandra Railly), Kirk Acevedo (Ramse), Emily Hampshire (Jennifer Goines), Barbara Sukowa (Katarina Jones) and Todd Stashwick (Deacon) reprising their roles.

12 Monkeys  follows the journey of Cole, a time traveler sent back in time from a dark, hellish future to prevent it from ever happening. Joining forces in the present with Dr. Railly, Cole must defeat a centuries-old malevolent organization known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys. As Cole, Railly and their unlikely allies get closer to the truth, they’ll learn there are deadly consequences for all of history … and time itself.

Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett (Nikita) are executive producers and showrunners, with Charles Roven (Batman v. Superman, Suicide Squad, American Hustle, The Dark Knight Trilogy) and Richard Suckle (Suicide Squad, American Hustle, The International) as executive producers. Atlas Entertainment and Roven produced the original film of 12 Monkeys, which starred Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Madeline Stowe, on which the series is based.

Hunters and 12 Monkeys are both produced by Universal Cable Productions (in association with Valhalla Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment, respectively).

12 Monkeys returns for a second season on Monday, April 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy.
