‘The Mindy Project’ Preview: “No More Mr. Noishe Guy”

Tonight, we say goodbye to Dr. Peter Prentice on The Mindy Project. Ever since Adam Pally joined the cast, there’s been more fun and ridiculousness with the characters on the show. He’s also been a supportive friend to Mindy and helped her with her boy problems (which included sexting among other things) even though he’s a total manchild and can’t handle any grownup situations. He still drinks like he’s in a frat and only just got his own place like a week ago! However, that’s all about to change.

On tonight’s episode we find out that Lauren has decided to move to Texas with her son, Henry, which puts both Peter and Jeremy in quite a predicament. I mean, we know that Peter is the one that decides to move with her, because, you know, he loves her and all. Yay, love! Also, he’s pretty good with that baby, unlike Jeremy.

Now this isn’t forever – According to EW, Adam Pally will pop in to the office every now if his schedule permits, as he has a development deal with ABC. Woohoo!

Man, I’m going to miss him.

Meanwhile, Mindy has the opportunity to start her own practice in San Francisco, which means she’ll have to tell Danny, and we all know that isn’t going to be easy. Apparently he is not a fan of California. Also, Danny decides to show her the brownstone he bought for the two of them in New York, which doesn’t make this decision any easier.

The synopsis for “No More Mr. Noishe Guy”:

Rob (guest star Tate Ellington) gives Mindy an opportunity to start up her own practice in San Francisco, and she struggles to tell Danny, especially when Danny shows her the brownstone he bought for the two of them in New York! Meanwhile, Jeremy and Peter grapple with the fact that Lauren is moving to Texas and leaving them both behind in the all-new “No More Mr. Noishe Guy” episode of THE MINDY PROJECT airing Tuesday, Feb. 3 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Averaging a 5.3 rating in Nielsen’s Most Current measure, Empire has emerged as the No. 1 new series of the season. Following its second episode, it is the only new broadcast drama this season to grow from week one to week two.

Lee Pace Guest Stars as Mindy’s ‘First’ on tonight’s ‘Mindy Project’

MindyEP314_Scene20_137_hires1

You guys, Lee Pace guest stars on tonight’s episode of The Mindy Project! Basically, we flash back to when Mindy was in college and she wonders what life would be like without Danny after running into her nerdy ex-boyfriend who just happens to be a billionaire. Oh, and it’s Lee Pace. I mean, don’t we all wonder what life would be like if we married Lee Pace?!

The synopsis for “San Francisco Bae”:

“While trying to make friends in her new city, Mindy runs into a nerd-turned-billionaire ex-flame from Princeton. She imagines the life of riches she could have had with him and questions her relationship with Danny. Meanwhile, back in New York, Danny and Morgan think they witness Lauren cheating on Jeremy with Peter, so they devise a way to spy on Peter in the all-new “San Francisco Bae” episode of The Mindy Project airing Tuesday, January 13 at 9:30 pm on Fox.”

FOX’s highly anticipated new drama Empire, starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, premieres Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, immediately following American Idol.

The hip-hop drama comes from the minds of Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, and is definitely a must-see.

FOX has released some of the cast images, a synopsis as well as the trailer (below).

Do you plan on tuning in? Let us know what you think!

FOX Synopsis: From Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Precious”) and Emmy Award winner Danny Strong (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Game Change”), comes EMPIRE, a sexy and powerful new drama about the head of a music empire whose three sons and ex-wife all battle for his throne.
LUCIOUS LYON (Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard, “Crash,” “Hustle & Flow”) is the king of hip-hop. An immensely talented artist, the CEO of Empire Entertainment and a former street thug, his reign has been unchallenged for years. But all that changes, when he learns he has a disease that is going to render him crippled and incapacitated in a matter of three years. The clock is ticking, and he must groom one of his three sons to take over his crowning achievement, without destroying his already fractured family.
Lucious’ favorite is his youngest son, HAKEEM (newcomer Bryshere Gray), a gifted musician and a spoiled playboy who values fame over hard work. The middle son, JAMAL (Jussie Smollett, “North,” “The Mighty Ducks”), is a sensitive soul and a musical prodigy who, unlike Hakeem, shies away from the spotlight. Jamal also happens to be gay, which infuriates and embarrasses his father. ANDRE (Trai Byers, “90210”), the eldest son, is CFO of Empire Entertainment. Wharton-educated with a brilliant business mind, Andre lacks the charisma that Lucious believes is crucial to running the company. But in his quest for power, Andre is assisted by his manipulative and like-minded wife, RHONDA (Kaitlin Doubleday, “Hung,” “Catch Me If You Can”).
As Lucious prompts his sons to vie for the empire, his plans are thrown into chaos when his ex-wife, COOKIE (Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Person of Interest”), mysteriously emerges seven years early from prison, where she’s been for almost two decades. Brash and fearless, she sees herself as the sacrificial lamb who built an empire with Lucious and then took the fall for running the drugs that financed Lucious’ early career.
For now, Lucious remains firmly in control of Empire Entertainment. He is attended to by his hard-working assistant, BECKY (guest star and Academy Award nominee Gabourey Sidibe, “American Horror Story,” “Precious”), and relies on longtime friend and Chairman of the Board VERNON TURNER (Malik Yoba, “Revolution,” “Girlfriends”) for advice and support. He relies on a whole lot more from ANIKA GIBBONS (newcomer Grace Gealey), the head of A&R for Empire and his current girlfriend.
As the Lyons slug it out, an emotional chess game begins that will either cause the family’s destruction or redemption. Lives and loves will be lost as the complicated family will come together and fall apart over the elusive throne, all set to an original soundtrack written and produced by legendary hip-hop hitmaker Timbaland. Will the family unite and learn to love each other before it’s too late? Love, war, family, sacrifice, money and music: this is the story of  EMPIRE.

In the winter finale of The Mindy Project we found out that Mindy got into the Stanford fellowship program and we are finally seeing her make the trek across country. Hulu has an exclusive teaser (below) and it’s just like Mindy going away to college for the first time. She puts a “Rosie the Riveter” poster up on her wall – even though she thinks it’s Taylor Swift – and Danny even brought Brown Bear to keep her company. Speaking of the teaser, Ana Gasteyer will be guest-starring in this week’s episode. We’re not sure exactly who her character is but I’m sure it’ll be funny.

Reading your girlfriend’s diary is always a sticky situation and should never be done in the first place. On this week’s episode of The Mindy Project, Danny finds himself snooping in Mindy’s diary while she’s away and gets himself into trouble. I can only imagine what her diary entries read, like a more exaggerated version of the stories she’s already telling.

The synopsis for “Diary of a Mad Indian Woman:”

“Mindy is forced to act as a mentor to the residents at the hospital, and Danny gets himself into trouble when he finds, and can’t help but read, Mindy’s diary in the all-new “Diary of a Mad Indian Woman” episode of The Mindy Project airing Tuesday, November 18 at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.”

‘The Mindy Project’ Preview: “Caramel Princess Time” [Photo Gallery]

Guess who’s back? If you guessed Danny’s mom then you won yourself a pat on the back! Good job, you! I’m still laughing from the time she wore the “I’m with trouble” shirt and Dot was “Trouble.” I die!

Rhea Perlman reprises her role as Annette Castellano alongside Niecy Nash as Dr. Jean Fishman. Allison Tolman (Fargo) makes her debut as Abby, Peter’s newest love interest.

If that wasn’t enough, according to Entertainment Weekly, Julia Stiles will guest star on an upcoming episode as a potential love interest for Morgan who also happens to be a friend of Danny’s. I wonder how Tamra is going to handle this?

Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode from FOX:

“Danny decides it’s time to take Mindy’s chronic tardiness into his own hands and teach her a lesson about being on time. Meanwhile, Tamra and Morgan set up Peter on a blind date with their novel-writing friend (guest star Tolman) in the all-new “Caramel Princess Time” episode of The Mindy Project.”
