‘Outlander’ Season 2: Premiere Date, Trailer and New Poster Revealed

Change the future…Forget the past…Rewrite history

Starz has just announced the premiere date for season 2 of their hit series Outlander as well as new key art and trailer which gave me ALL THE FEELS!

Outlander season 2 will premiere on Saturday, April 9 at 9/8c and it couldn’t come soon enough because this whole Droughtlander thing has gone on for too long!

The network teased us with some of the new costumes back in January, but this new poster is something else. Claire’s gorgeous red dress makes you travel back in time just from looking at it and you can’t miss the “Viva les Frasers” splashed across the image. Terry Dresbach did a phenomenal job on the costumes in the upcoming season. Check out People StyleWatch for their exclusive interview with Dresbach.

Last we saw Jamie and Claire, they found out they were pregnant and about to board a ship to France to see about changing the future…well, Jamie’s future and Claire’s knowledge of the past. The new trailer (seen below) shows us that Claire has indeed gone back to Frank and can barely look at him. I mean, I can barely look at him because now all we see is Black Jack Randall and all the horrible things he’s done.

5 Things You Need to Know About ‘Outlander’ Season 2

“This season changes everything for Claire and Jamie”

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling empty inside without some Outlander in my life. I’VE BEEN IN DROUGHTLANDER!!!! Last we saw Jamie and Claire, they found out they were pregnant and about to board a ship to France to see about changing the future…well, Jamie’s future and Claire’s knowledge of the past.

At the Television Critics Association winter session, Starz gave the fans a bit of a teaser for what’s to come in season 2 of Outlander.

1. Bienvenue en France
The teaser showed Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) in France because that’s where Prince Charles Stuart is along with the rest of the Jacobites. They attend galas and dinners at the King’s palace in order to infiltrate the Jacobite movement in hopes of stopping the battle of Culloden.

2.  New Characters
Caitriona and Sam are excited for us to see the new cast members that are joining their little show. “We hRichard Rankin_Roger Wakefieldave some fantastic new characters coming in. There are new enemies, new allies,” added Heughan. Scottish actor Richard Rankin has been cast to play the fan favorite role of Roger Wakefield in season two. Roger is described as “intelligent, kindhearted, and charming, Roger is the grown up version of Reverend Wakefield’s adorable adopted son we met in Season One.  After his parents died in World War II, Roger was raised by the Reverend (with help from his housekeeper, Mrs. Graham) and is a proud Scot through and through. Now a professor at Oxford, Roger has a keen interest in history, and all the secrets and insight it presents.”

3.  Diana Gabaldon on her writing
Dayum! A reporter tried to get Diana Gabaldon to throw some serious shade today, referencing George R.R. Martin’s inability to finish the book in time for Game of Thrones.“Unlike George, I write no matter where I am or whatever I’m doing.” Gabaldon added, “I don’t plan books out ahead of time or write in a straight line. I knew there was more to Outlander after the first book.” She says it’s been a very collaborative process and has even written one of the episodes in the upcoming season.

4.   Premiere Date
While we still don’t have an exact date, we do know that the second season of Outlander will premiere in April 2016 on Starz.

5.  The costumes
Terry Dresbach did a phenomenal job on the upcoming season. Check out some of the gorgeous pieces Caitriona and Sam get to wear in season two.

‘Flesh and Bone’ Series Premiere Preview [Photos and Video]

Starz’s widely-anticipated limited series Flesh and Bone is a show filled with beautiful dance sequences as well as cringeworthy ones.

From Emmy award-winning Breaking Bad writer and executive producer Moira Walley-Beckett, comes Starz’s intense new ballet drama, about a young woman named Claire, who has a dark past she’s desperately trying to run away from while dancing her way to the top. She also happens to come across some disturbing moments and people along the way.

The official synopsis: Flesh and Bone follows a young dancer with a distinctly troubled past as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. The dark, gritty, complex series unflinchingly explores New York City through the eyes of Claire, played by Sarah Hay (Black Swan), an emotionally wounded but transcendent ballerina navigating the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world. Claire’s self-destructive tendencies amid her vaulting ambitions driver her in compelling, unforeseeable ways, especially when she is confronted with the machinations of the company’s mercurial Artistic Director, played by Ben Daniels (House of Cards) and an unwelcome visitor from her past.

The series is not what you expect. It’s not all comedy and silly drama like Center Stage. The story starts off en pointe and ends with a dark cloud that follows Claire wherever she goes. There are twists and turns that you don’t see coming and the ones you do make you feel like you need a shower after. Don’t get me wrong, after the pilot I was left wanting more even though I knew what was around the corner.

For the first time, Starz is releasing all eight episodes at once starting a midnight on Sunday, November 8, for Starz subscribers on Starz PLAY and Starz On Demand.

Starz Wants You to Binge-Watch the Entire Season of ‘Flesh and Bone’ and ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’

Flesh and Bone

Starz has decided to jump on the binge-watching bandwagon!

Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht announced today at the Television Critics Association summer session that all episodes of the third and final season of Da Vinci’s Demons and the highly anticipated limited series Flesh and Bone will be available exclusive for Starz subscribers on STARZ PLAY and STARZ ON DEMAND when they premiere on October 24 and November 8 respectively.

“Starz has had a fantastic year with original programming in 2015 and we are rewarding our Starz subscribers with two special opportunities to immerse themselves into quality series and enjoy them on their own schedules,” said Albrecht.

Da Vinci’s Demons 10-episode third season is helmed by creator and executive producer David S,. Goyer and all eight episodes of Flesh and Bone come from Emmy award-winning Breaking Bad writer and executive producer Moira Walley-Beckett.

“The great and passionate followers of Da Vinci’s Demons have been waiting since the spring of last year for new episodes while the  gritty world of ballet as depicted in the Flesh and Bone limited series is must-see television for fans of the genre and great television alike,” said David Baldwin, Starz Executive Vice President of Program Planning. “Both series are engaging and well-suited for a binge viewing experiment. In the busy fall television season, we thought this was a terrific benefit for Starz subscribers who want to get a jump and enjoy the complete series on their own time and schedule, with the first two seasons of Da Vinci’s Demons already available on STARZ PLAY and STARZ ON DEMAND.”

When asked if other programs would become available for binge-watching, like say, Outlander, Albrecht immediately squashed that idea saying, “if we waited for all the episodes to be done, we would have to delay the debut of the first episode quite significantly.”

Sorry, Outlander fans, your dreams of curling up on the couch and watching an entirely new season of Sam Heughan in a kilt have been killed.

In the meantime, check out the trailers for the Da Vinci’s Demons and Flesh and Bones below.
