‘The Good Wife’ Ending After Season 7

Well, that’s one way to announce some big news.

CBS has just announced that The Good Wife is officially coming to an end after seven seasons through a commercial during Super Bowl 50. The series will say its final goodbye in May which means there are only nine episodes left.

Earlier last month at the Television Critics Association winter session, Glenn Geller announced during his executive session that Good Wife creators Michelle and Robert King would not be returning after the seventh season. That was some pretty big news and no one could really see how the show would move forward without them.

According to Vulture, just shortly after TCA, Julianna Margulies made a shocking comment at the Casting Society of America’s third annual Artios Awards saying, “I surprised Robert and Michelle tonight.” “They didn’t know I was going to be here. They think I’m here for them, but I’m unemployed come April, and I think you haven’t seen me in a while, at least not in person, so I thought I should show up.”

Can anyone say DRAMA?!

I just hope she ends up with Jason (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

The race for State’s Attorney is in full swing and Alicia is determined to beat her newest opponent, Frank Prady, but doesn’t want to fight the dirty way with a negative campaign strategy. But we all know Johnny and Eli are going to push for just that. Meanwhile, Cary has been asked by the Feds to help build a case again Lemond Bishop. I mean, this sounds like a good thing but will it help him? How is Kalinda involved? Does it affect her in any way? I’m sort of fearing for her life at this point.

The Good Wife is known for having some pretty amazing guest stars and this week is no different. David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) joins the series as legal commentator, Frank Prady.

On a side note, can we just talk about how much I’m loving the amazing flirty awkwardness between Elsbeth and Josh Perotti?! Fantastic!

‘The Good Wife’ Preview: “Shiny Objects” [Photos and Video]

Last week’s episode of The Good Wife was probably one of the best episode of the entire series. I wanted them to shoot the entire episode at the table. We can tell that Eli and Alicia are getting pretty serious about her running for State’s Attorney, to the point that they brought well respected campaign manager, Jonathan Elfman (Steven Pasquale) to the house to discuss oppo research. That took quite the turn when they brought some pretty tough secrets to light, especially ones that Alicia didn’t know about. Not only did Zach lie to her and say he was going to look at colleges for the weekend, but he went with his then-girlfriend, Neesa, to get an abortion and didn’t tell her about it. Even her parents knew about it. This made Alicia’s skin boil. I mean, I’d be pissed too. Now she thinks he’s lying about everything, including the bong photos from last season. Good thing Eli didn’t let Jonathan Elfman (Steven Pasquale) tell her about the intern in Peter’s office. That would have been too much.

This week’s episode titled “Shiny Objects” has the entire team of Florrick/Agos/Lockhart on red alert when a hacker seizes control and threatens to delete all of their files.

In Sunday’s episode of The Good Wife, Alicia walked into Eli’s office and finally decided to enter the race and run against Castro. She did this in part because of his constant threats against her but also because after running into Gloria Steinem who encouraged her to run, how could you not?

In this week’s episode titled “Oppo Research,” Alicia explores the option further of running for State’s Attorney. Eli decides to bring in esteemed campaign manager Jonathan Elfman (Steven Pasquale) to help her decide once and for all.

What will happen if she does run? She’ll have to leave the practice, right? Will this help or hurt Cary’s chances of staying out on bail?

‘The Good Wife’ Preview: “Dear God” [Photos and Video]

Alicia Florrick is definitely going to run for office right? I mean, if they put all this buildup into it and it doesn’t happen I’ll be so upset. But on the other hand, that means she won’t get to practice. Or is this how they’re going to wrap up the show? I have so many questions. Back at Florrick Agos, they’ve just added a whole slew of lawyers from Lockhart/Gardner including the one and only Dean Levine-Wilkins played by Taye Diggs. Watching Diane leave the firm that she and Will built from the ground up was such an amazing scene to watch. Also, when is Eli’s daughter coming back? I really like her and want her to work for him because their relationship is just amazing.

This week’s episode titled “Dear God” seems to focus mainly on Alicia and Dean’s new working relationship and their beliefs.

The Good Wife airs Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.

“Dear God” — Cary’s freedom lies in the hands of his pretrial service officer, Joy Grubick, as she interviews his colleagues to determine whether or not he should remain behind bars. Meanwhile, Alicia and Dean find themselves in unfamiliar territory when a client’s case ends up in Christian Arbitration, on THE GOOD WIFE, Sunday, Oct. 5 (9:30-10:30 PM, ET, 9:00-10:00 PM, PT), on the CBS Television Network.
