The vampire gang is getting back together…for a crossover.

At the Television Critics Association’s winter session, CW President Mark Pedowitz announced that The Vampire Diaries along with its spinoff series The Originals will have a crossover episode later this season.

“You will see, organically, a crossover this year,” said Pedowitz. He adds that it won’t be “the size or scope that you see on The Flash and Arrow. They have to be organic and make sense. If it doesn’t make sense storywise, don’t force it.”

The fans have been hoping for a crossover episode for a while, so this will be an exciting event. Plus, this news comes after the network moved both series to Friday nights. Pedowitz responded by saying that “the move is not to exile the shows, but to strengthen Friday night.”

The Vampire Diaries returns Friday, Jan. 29 at 8/7 c followed by The Originals at 9/8c on the CW.

After testing Freya in order to believe she is who she says she is, Klaus is forced to put aside his feelings about her in order to save his other sister Rebekah.

Rebekah realizes that the body she’s been inhabiting is trying to regain control and doing things she doesn’t remember doing. Like killing innocent children.

According to Executive Producer Michael Narducci, “it is the showdown we’ve been waiting for between Rebekah Mikaelson and the spirit of the host body she’s taken over, Eva Sinclair, a very evil witch.”

Basically, everyone will do whatever they can to save her life. No matter what.

Because family.

The Originals airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

It’s been a few weeks since we last checked in with the wolves and witches of New Orleans, and a lot is going on over there. It’s nothing new though, so let’s start with Rebekah, shall we? Ever since she woke up in that new body of hers, we haven’t really been updated with who’s body it is and her story but don’t worry, we’re about to find out. After a dangerous run-in with a powerful coven of vengeful witches, Rebekah is forced to go to Marcel for help, not that he minds, only to find out the body she’s currently inhabiting has a checkered past. Shocker!

After finding out that Rebekah’s in danger, Elijah goes to see a respected older witch to ask for her help. We’ll see how that goes.

Meanwhile, Hayley and Jackson are living life as newlyweds, only they can’t even get it on because Hope just won’t stop crying! Just kidding. But, Jack is trying to find the best way to help Hayley with the baby without overstepping and doesn’t want to force her to do anything she doesn’t want to do, or make her feel obligated to him in any way. Isn’t he sweet!!

Let’s not forget about dear old Freya and how she convinces her brother Finn to bring her to see their father Mikael (Sebastian Roche), whom she hasn’t seen since she was a child.

The official synopsis for “They All Asked for You”:

UNLIKELY ALLIANCES — When a dangerous run-in with a coven of vengeful witches forces Rebekah (guest star Maisie Richardson-Sellers) to align with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), they quickly discover that the body Rebekah is currently inhabiting has a checkered past. Upon learning that Rebekah is in danger, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) seeks out a respected elder witch, Josephine (guest star Meg Foster), in the hopes she might offer her assistance. Meanwhile, tensions build when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) clashes with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) over how best to protect baby Hope from Finn (Yusuf Gatewood). Elsewhere, Freya (guest star Riley Voelkel), convinces Finn to bring her to Mikael (guest star Sebastian Roche), the father she hasn’t seen in over a thousand years. Lastly, a confrontation with Freya leaves Elijah and Klaus questioning whether they can trust their long-lost sister.

Everything is falling apart. Basically, Vincent knows about Hope and Rebekah has escaped the mystical loony bin. Oh, and let’s not forget about Hayley and Jackson’s wedding and how they’re about to become pawns in Vincent’s little game to find Hope. There’s a lot happening in New Orleans and this is only the beginning.

The official synopsis for “The Devil is Damned”:

FAMILY IS POWER — More dangerous than ever, Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood) remains one step ahead after joining forces with a powerful figure from his past. As the threat to Hope’s life grows stronger, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) realizes he has no choice but to place his trust in his siblings to ensure she remains protected. Meanwhile, after being presented with an enticing proposition, Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) is forced to make a difficult life or death decision, and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) finds himself in the fight of his life after an unexpected visitor arrives at the safe house. At the bayou, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) continue to prepare for the unification ritual, but things quickly go awry when they become pawns in Vincent’s dangerous plan. Charles Michael Davis and Leah Pipes also star.

Well, Hayley seems to have found herself in quite the spot. On the one hand, she can save her wolves by marrying the oh so handsome Jackson, BUT that means smoking some crazy plant that makes you tell all of your secrets. Sure they call it some kind of cleanse, but I think it’s just a way for Jackson to hold all the cards. Plus, they can’t tell anyone about Hope. She means everything to Klaus and Hayley, and nothing will stop him from keeping that secret. Looks like Klaus will be popping over to the bayou “to remind her of the importance of family.”

Meanwhile, Rebekah is officially trapped in crazy town with none other than Freya herself, her own long lost sister. She’s definitely made her presence known with all her witchy scrabble skills.

The official synopsis for “Sanctuary”:

THE GIRL IN BLACK — After a series of strange encounters, Rebekah (guest star Maisie Richardson-Sellers) becomes intrigued by a mysterious girl who has recently arrived to the insane asylum. At the bayou, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) struggles with coming clean to Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) about the secrets she’s keeping and is surprised when he shares his own secret involving Hayley’s parents. Meanwhile, after learning the details of a particular marriage ritual that Hayley and Jackson must complete, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) heads to the bayou to put an end to it, but not before running into Jackson’s grandmother Mary (guest star Debra Mooney). Elsewhere, Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood) remains determined to uncover the secret he knows Klaus is hiding and sets his eyes on Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) for answers. Lastly, when Davina (Danielle Campbell) discovers that Josh (guest star Steven Kruger) and Marcel are in danger, she enlists the help of Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) and Aiden (guest star Colin Woodell) to rescue them.

The CW Renews 8 Shows Including ‘Arrow,’ ‘Jane the Virgin,’ The Flash’ and More for 2015-2016 Season

Arrow-Flash-Producers-Talk-Upcoming-Seasons

The CW Network has picked up eight of its current series for the 2015-2016 season, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW, during the network’s session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena.

The renewals include some obvious choices like Arrow, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, The Originals and The Flash, which is the most-watched show in the CW’s history. Some shows that don’t have the best ratings but definitely fan-favorites include The 100, Reign and Jane the Virgin, for which title star Gina Rodriguez is nominated for a Golden Globe.

In essence, The CW picked up all of the scripted series from its Fall 2014 schedule to next season.

“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said Pedowitz.  “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”

‘The Originals’ Preview: “Chasing the Devil’s Tail” [Photos and Video]

Someone is playing a very dangerous game, and that someone is Cami. This week’s episode of The Originals has her dangling herself if you will, in front of Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) in order to distract him and help the others. I’m sure this will go over very well. Meanwhile, Klaus is trying to get Elijah to wake up out of his horrible, nightmare-filled sleep that Esther has put him in. Let’s not forget about Davina and Kaleb (Daniel Sharman) who are getting a little too close. He helps her with her unlinking spell by letting her in on a few secrets from his past.

GOING AFTER EVERYTHING ESTHER LOVES — When Klaus (Joseph Morgan) discovers that Elijah (Daniel Gillies) has been afflicted by Esther’s (Sonja Sohn) magic, he heads to the bayou in search of an antidote, but quickly realizes he’s not alone. Armed with intel gathered by Aiden (guest star Colin Woodell), Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) teams up with him, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Cami (Leah Pipes) and Josh (guest star Steven Kruger) and launches a plan to take down Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood) by exploiting his one weakness. Meanwhile, with Esther determined to carry out her plan, Vincent and Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) are forced to reconsider their own strategies. Intrigued by Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) unwavering attempts to create an unlinking spell, Kaleb lets her in on some secrets from his past and brings her to a place he frequented in 1914.

‘The Originals’ Preview: “Wheel Inside the Wheel” [Photos]

The Originals has been telling a lot of stories within stories as well as showing us scenes from everyone’s past as of late. This week’s episode is no different. We see Esther and Michael’s life before things went all supernatural.

Meanwhile, Esther still has Elijah hanging from chains in a cave somewhere and Klaus is determined to get him back. She decides to release a few dark secrets in his past that might make him side with his mother in the end. Also, Cami realizes that something isn’t right with this faculty advisor of hers and turns to Marcel for help. Thank god! I was wondering when she would figure that out.

Meanwhile, Oliver (guest star Chase Coleman) ends up in a dangerous situation, prompting Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to reconnect with Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons), who has been living a new life out in the bayou. Elsewhere, Cami (Leah Pipes), who still believes baby Hope’s death was her fault, teams up with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Gia (guest star Nishi Munshi) after she becomes suspicious of her faculty advisor Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood).
